Modifying a DBox I from SAT to Cable
deutsche Version hier
Unnessesary to mention, but: Your warranty will be voided by doing
this modification!!
This modification is significantly easier than the other way round, from cable to SAT.
In the placement drawings the colors mean:
Add parts/connections, rsp. remove crossed parts marked BLUE.
And, of course, the present SAT tunerboard of your receiver has to be changed to a cable tuner board. And you have
to drill two holes in the backcover as the aerial connectors of the cable tuner are at a different place than the one
of the sat tuner.
So:
- short IS05 pins 3 and 4 (pin3 to ground)→ a drop of tin will do...
(this disables the 22k switching tone generator)
- short TS09 base-emitter path → a drop of tin again...
(this disables the 13/18V switching)
- short TS10 base-emitter path → and again...
(this disables the 13/18V adjustment)
- short DS22 → put a wire across it
- change RS24 to 2.1k → put a 4.7k across the present 3.83k
- change the tunerboard
- NOTE: if using a NDT tuner (not DF1CSxxxx), move RC28 to position RC29
(located on the solder side beneath the connector to the tunerboard)
- adjust the software!
After doing the modifications, check that the voltage at the wire now replacing DS22 is about +12V (±0.15V)
measured against i.e. the tuner shield.

ATTENTION! Workability of the modification has not yet been confirmed!
Good luck! I Hope, I didn't forget anything...
